Overview
This article answers common questions that apply across Value Driver Trees, KPIs, analysis, and access. For detailed instructions, refer to the relevant how-to articles earlier in this guide.
Why can't I see values where I expect them?
This is usually caused by one of the following:
- KPI values do not exist for the selected period
- The selected view references a field with no data
- KPI frequency does not align with the VDT definition
- Imported KPI values failed validation
What to check:
- Open the KPI and review the Values tab
- Confirm the selected view uses populated fields
- Verify KPI frequency and VDT timeframe alignment
I uploaded KPI values, but they are not showing
Uploaded KPI values will not display if:
- Values were uploaded for a different period
- The KPI frequency does not match the VDT definition
- The selected chart or view references a different field
Next step:
Open the KPI, confirm the values exist for the correct period, then re-select the appropriate view.
Why did my Value Driver Tree change after I edited a definition?
Value Driver Trees do not automatically update when a VDT Definition is changed.
If fields or views were added to a definition after the tree was created, the tree must be explicitly updated to use the revised definition.
Next step:
Use the Change Definition option on the Value Driver Tree to re-select the updated definition.
Why do my analysis results look different from another user's?
This can happen when:
- Users have different position assignments
- Different views or fields are selected
- KPI data has been updated since the last analysis run
Analysis always reflects the current data and user context.
Why can't I edit a Value Driver Tree or KPI?
Editing is controlled by roles and permissions.
If you can view but not edit:
- Your role may be read-only
- The object may be private
- You may not have edit permissions for that object type
Next step:
Contact an administrator to confirm your role.
Why can't I find my exported file?
Exported files are:
- Downloaded to your browser's default download location
- Not stored inside WiredUp
If you can't find the file:
- Check your browser's download history
- Confirm pop-ups or downloads are not blocked
- Re-export the file if needed
How do I configure or change a calculated KPI?
Calculated KPIs are configured at the KPI level, not in the Value Driver Tree.
If you need to update a formula or calculation method:
- Open the KPI
- Edit the calculation configuration
- Review the impact on any Value Driver Trees using the KPI
I can't add a user / a user can't log in
User management actions are restricted to administrators.
Common causes include:
- Insufficient permissions
- User already exists
- Incomplete role or position assignment
Next step:
Contact a system administrator to resolve access issues.
How do I contact support?
If you are unable to resolve an issue:
- Use the Support option within WiredUP, or
- Contact your organisation's WiredUP administrator
Provide:
- The object name (KPI, VDT, etc.)
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
When to use this FAQ
Use this article when:
- Something "doesn't look right"
- Behaviour is unexpected
- You're unsure whether it's data, structure, or access related
